 Wythenshawe Good Neighbours Volunteer Recruitment & Selection
Volunteering with Wythenshawe Good Neighbours is about freely giving time and skills for the benefit of our older service users and other volunteers within the team.  Training is provided through an initial induction session and further training dependant on the volunteer role. Through our partnership with training providers and ring fenced funding we are able to provide the following courses,

  • Volunteer Induction
  • Companionship Home Visits
  • Companionship Phone Calls
  • Extended Volunteer Activity
  • Accredited First Aid
  • Lone Working
  • Safeguarding

Our flexible training and support welcomes volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life.  We have a place for you that will meet your work, study or family commitments. Below are just some of the services we are regularly asked for,

  • Visiting an older person in their home
  • escorting an older person to hospital or other health or personal appointments
  • reading letters, form filling etc
  • Renewing passes or permits
  • Comparing best prices for utility bills etc
  • sitting with an older person at weekends so their carer can have some free time
​We are also involved in other projects such as knitting, oral history, film making, research etc.  We have a range of resources to help you establish a relationship with your older person and regular online and face to face support.

  • Each applicant will provide two references and two passport sized photographs
  • Each applicant will provide sufficient detail to complete a DBS where appropriate.
  • Attend initial overveiw meeting before induction
